Personally, regardless of the "Why" shooting anyone fatally should get you life in prison or the death penalty. Pretty simple.
Communists calling for his release shows that he served his purpose in their minds, and just as Democrats are catching and releasing criminals for "similar" charges, they want another murderer on the streets.

He was tried and convicted. He has had countless appeals. Including not once, but TWICE at the Supreme Court - which is virtually unheard of. And every time his conviction has been upheld.

He can rot in prison.
