The media in general has always been full of crap! They spread disinformation, bury or simply do not cover stories they don't want you to know about. It is nothing new, although it was understandable up until the 90's. Prior to then they had very limited time to bring "The News" to it's viewership as local and national news programming was limited to 30 minutes each. Now that there are a multitude of 24hr "news" channels, the bias is far more obvious to those who don't hold their particular "news" organizations on a pedestal.

Instant communication via cell phones etc it ie make it very hard to suppress a news story. Now “both sides “ try to flood the “market” to get there agenda published to influence public opinion. . Some of the BS pushed by news services becomes iconic. The picture of fires burning during the “mostly peaceful” riot in 2020 is a good example.
