So folks like Patton and Ike and Chesty Puller and George Washingon.... all those folks who commanded before DEI was a thing.... they were not good leaders because they never took courses in DEI? I am having a hard time following your logic here.

Village idiot? You mean Trump? Yeah he won't be remembered fondly at all. It's weird how certain people will just blatantly believe inflammatory articles and do no reading of their own on a topic. I guess that's why someone "loves the poorly educated..."

It's a minor. That's it. No one has to take this. If it's something that could accompany their major who cares? They're still getting electives - like math, English, etc.

It's amazing to see what triggers certain people.

I really don't care what the DEI minor teaches. It shouldn't exist at all. This is a MILITARY ACADEMY.

I don't have a problem with DEI like most of my conservative compatriots do. I have a problem with the way some institutions IMPLEMENT it, sure; but not with the concept itself. I don't even have a problem with the military striving for diversity and inclusion. (Equity is a big no-no tho. Equality is the standard, not equity.)

But when it comes to the education our future Officers are getting, anything that cannot directly or indirectly be tied to fighting and winning our nation's wars should not be there.

Math? Lots of uses, especially in logistics and artillery
English? Writing clear and concise orders is IMPORTANT.
Poli-Sci? Useful for both getting needed resources and undermining political support for opposing forces.
History? Ummm... Clausewitz, anyone? Hannibal, Napoleon, Rommel, etc.
Science? Developing better tech, destroying enemy tech, determining what foods are edible if rations disappear, artillery, and much more.
Psychology? PsyOps, anyone? Plus interrogations, and more.
Dance? Nope. Go fish. Music history? Sorry. Sculpture? Try again. Urban studies? Actually, yes! Lots of application for recruitment and for understanding and fighting the enemy. CA can use urban studies majors.

You get the idea.

Unless someone can explain to me how DEI minors will help fight and win wars I simply should not be an option. Maybe a COURSE, but not a minor. And please don't try with the "we need to get along to fight well" rhetoric. Because the last REAL win we had (not counting Desert Storm which barely even counts as a war) was in WWII. Back when the military was segregated by sex and only nominally integrated by race. I am not AT ALL trying to say integration ruined our military (because I am sure someone will decide that is what I said). But I *am* saying that a lack of integration - or an imperfect one - certainly did not STOP us from kicking .@$$.

It's just amazing to see how certain people perceive things. That's that America exceptionalism ideology at work right there...

When you say "but..." you just negated everything you said prior to that.

SFC (Join to see) I like ice cream. But not chocolate.

Doesn't mean I don't like ice cream.

And how is anything I said here American Exceptionalism?

I had a lot of other nasty snarky comments, but I deleted them in the hopes of keeping the dialog professional.

Here is the American hating Kelly. Hard to imagine how she could serve such a horrible country. This countries greatness in the fact that fools like her can speak freely and actually serve willingly or not. Skills or quotas …. which shows more when she speaks.
