As the Constitution was crafted, every word of it was submitted to a committee that had the final say, a committee to insure that every word was written in plain language. They expressly wished to avoid the need for anyone, especially lawyers, to interpret it for us. The goal was for any literate citizen to be able to interpret it for themselves. And what do you suppose happened? Well, we have people interpreting the Constitution for us. Personally, I read it for myself. When you look towards the District of Calamity we see a government totally out of sync with the Constitution as written. It was built from "progressive" interpretations of the Constitution.

There is a few remnants honored be Representative from the Cave of the Winds. While the United States Constitution was a document created in excellence an additional 27 amendments were written as enhancement and yes some could be called progressive. One of the worst offenders IMHO is the 16th amendment. In addition, 85 Federalist Papers were written in support of the constitution with Madison, Hamilton, and Jay being big contributors. All are important papers but IMHO, number 51 by Madison is a stand out. CPT Jack Durish

Excellent share. Putting the Constitution in context to then and now can often be a sticking point. It shouldn't always be the Constitution says.
