Biden Admin Cracks Down On Pool Pump Motors With New Multi-Billion Dollar Regulation

We have a swimming pool. It entertains children and grand children. Pools are like boats requiring constant maintenance. Things break and quit working just before a back yard cook out, family gathering etc.. Two pumps are required for our pool system. One for circulating water through the filter and salt ionizer. The second pump runs the Polaris, an automated pool cleaner sweeper. I have two sets of pumps so if something goes wrong I can switch them out. Friday the main circulation pump failed causing the other pump to fail. Switched out pumps and took the broken pumps to the repair shop. If they were not repairable I asked how much for a new pump. These pumps used to ran $400 or so apiece. The owner of the shop said “you are looking at $1,200 to $1,500 apiece if I can get them”. This is so much BS. Despite our swimming pool and living in the south requiring Air Conditioning our home runs below energy efficient levels except for one or two months a year. During those months we are still below average energy use. So because some clown in DC gets a wild hair replacing our pumps will be a 300% increase over 3 years ago.
