Basically, Biden Administration weakness and the disaster that was the Afghanistan pull out encouraged Hamas to plan for two years the Gaza attack. The tipping point for them to execute the attack is linked to the prisoner and money exchange with Iran. So no, the war on terror is not over, we are now in a new phase.

I wouldn't go that far. Yes, America's weakness under Biden (and whomever is pulling his strings) is encouraging bad actors everywhere. (Putin included.) Best do their worst before America regains its sanity. But he didn't create the bad actors. He didn't put evil in their hearts. Worst of all, he has opened our borders to them and we can be certain that military aged men from virtually every enemy state and non-state terrorists are taking advantage. Yes, I believe that the enemy is inside the wire and some of them hold office.

I agree. I could not understand what motivated Hamas to attack Israel on Oct 7th, aside from their hatred of Jews. Hammas had to know the response would be brutal for the Palestinians. Now that the dust has somewhat settled, it appears the pending peace accord between Saudi Arabia and Israel was perhaps a catalyst to the attack.
On Sept 22, Netanyahu announced to the UN that Israel is at the cusp of a “dramatic breakthrough”: a historic peace deal between his country and Saudi Arabia.
“Such a peace will go a long way in ending Arab-Israeli conflict and will encourage other Arab States to normalize their relations with Israel,” he said, adding that it will also enhance prospects of peace with the Palestinians.
I can see where Hammas wanted nothing to do with this "peace" in the Middle East.
