Some good inspiration. I have had numerous students from other nations bring up in conversation the question of why Americans do not seem to realize the freedoms with which we are empowered. People worldwide are inspired by our Declaration of Independence and Constitution - at least the Preamble and Bill of Rights which are inspiring to all. That is why they ask, because it seems to them we Americans are not! I suppose part of the disconnect they notice might be that anyone attending school in another nation is a relatively serious student - at least wanting to learn about the nation and it's people.
The article Looks like something intended to be taught at Primary and Secondary level. It's not anything we covered in the 50s and 60s. Seems a more practical than personal "identity politics" of all types for children, since it clearly states the obligation of citizens.

Why do we not realize thexfreedoms we have? Its quite simple. Many have never lost those freedoms and won't realize it till they lose them.
Its just like people complain about interest rates. They either do not know or forgot that good credit and down payment could get you a home loan at 12% or a car loan at 18%. Most complaining have lived through an unnatural interest rate environment and expected that to be the norm. Its not
