86-year-old woman beaten to death on high school track in "extremely violent attack"

It irks me whenever I hear about elderly ladies being sexually assaulted, beaten, even killed. And this sort of thing happened all the time in New York whilst I was in college. Damn those who have neither respect nor decency!

NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. – An 86-year-old woman was beaten to death on a high school track early Wednesday morning in an apparently random attack, reports CBS Sacramento.

According to police, the woman was walking the running track at Highlands High School about two hours before school started when a suspect came up and attacked her and a 61-year-old woman she was with. Detectives say the women were sexually assaulted.

The 61-year-old was reportedly able to escape but authorities say the 86-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
