A Comment from the "Another Way to Comply with the Police as an IL Concealed Carrier" Short video... excellent advice in many situations...
"So... I don't work in retail. I actually work at a school that specializes in behavioral disorders. My students have been expelled from surrounding public school districts. I had a kid being very confrontational, refusing to work, "waiting me out". We literally sat in a quiet room for an hour staring at eachother. He was supposed to be getting caught up on work. I offered to help him get started and he shut down and wanted to bait me into a fight. I said "alright, I'll just wait till you are ready." Well the hour after school went by and he got nothing done. As the principal came in to walk him to the bus he was laughing that he wasted all my time. I smiled at him and said "I get paid by the hour and regardless of if you work or not. Thanks for the over time pay. See you tomorrow after school." He was LIVID. He had to stay for 1 hour after school for 2 weeks, until he started getting his work done. Now that student is doing much better. In my experience, when someone is trying to get under your skin, it's the best power move to not engage and turn it around on them. Like I did with that student."
