Brings back good memories. My friend and I used to explore the woods all the time. Blaze trails and tree houses. Fun times.

Try as you might, you can't overcome physiology. Some animals thrived because they were born with a natural sense of direction and others didn't. During human evolution, hunters with a natural sense of direction thrived while those lacking it didn't. Gatherers didn't need it, and it never developed in them as acutely. Evolution is not a tool that exerts itself in an individual.
