LTC Eugene Chu While athletes from Russia and Belarus will be allowed to compete in individual events as "Individual Neutral Athletes" -- or "AINs" -- teams, flags and national anthems from both countries are banned.
"AINs will not participate in the parade of delegations (teams) during the Opening Ceremony, since they are individual athletes," the IOC clarified in a statement.
