My dogs are both service dogs with different duties. They take their duties seriously but they are aging. Because of them, I am still here. The white one is 16 and can smell illness on my breath and will lay on me and tell me it’s time to go get help. He is rarely far from my side. The black one is in charge of medication reminders and a final perimeter check before we sleep. Both of them work on getting me out of bed to take my meds and move multiple times a day. It will be hard to say goodbye, they are such good dogs. When I drop pills they leave them where they fall. They know they aren’t for them. All they ask in return is a bit of comfort, a spot inside a few doggies cookies and some love,

Nothing better than a rescue animal.
