This should work fine as long as they get they explosives synced. If they don't go off either in the right sequence or simultaneously, depending on how they plan the cut, it can twist and come down in a bigger mess.
Don''t ask me how I know that bit of information.

Well, it does sound like the voice of experience. I performed a single demolition during my time in service. The destruction of an abandoned bunker in RVN. Reviews were mixed.

LTC Thomas (Tom) Jones - Never trust a blaster that hasn't had a major screw up. I wasn't OIC on this job, but I got to see the results. Similar operation, we had been asked to blow an old bridge by the state. The plan was to blow the supports simultaneously and drop it straight down where it could be accessed and cut up. Instead, the charges went off in sequence. One corner started to fall before the rest of it, it kind of twisted about 1/3rd of the way before it collapsed into a big, twisted pile of steel. The State wasn't happy with the results. I think they primed with det chord and although it looks like it blows up instantly, it really doesn't.
