It is my opinion this case will be discussed in law school classes for decades as one of the worst prosecutions in American jurisprudence. Judge Merchan will be the lead fall guy.

I want to be clear that I am making no statement regarding what *should* happen or even what *will* happen.

But the judge considering the motion means... well.... pretty much nothing. The judge MUST consider all motions brought before him. Now, he may consider for all of about 0.8 seconds, because it is a ridiculous motion, but he still considers. But even far-fetched but POSSIBLE motions must be considered in full. So, the judge considering this motion does NOT necessarily mean the motion has merit or is likely to be granted. (Again, I make no comment on whether it should or will.) It only means the judge sees a POSSIBILITY - however large OR small - that it MIGHT be granted.

Your statement gave me the best laugh of the morning. If the judge didn't consider points of law before the trial began, why would he consider a motion to dismiss. He is a hack whose family has received large amounts of money from organizations hostile toward President Trump. I could have very well tagged this post with Satire and Humor, but I didn't because we both know the tags would have been removes even though I find them humorous. :)
We both know this is a Kangaroo Court and a farce.
