"Quantum Teleportation"? Hmm . . . use of photon quantum entanglement to carry information, actually.
"Quantum teleportation has the ability to provide quantum connectivity securely between geographically distant nodes," Kumar said. "But many people have long assumed that nobody would build specialized infrastructure to send particles of light. If we choose the wavelengths properly, we won't have to build new infrastructure. Classical communications and quantum communications can coexist."
Teleportation conjurs up thoughts of Star Trek series "transporters". And the fact is there have already been experiments with moving physical objects from place to place.
I realize safety concerns seem to superimpose a negative perspective, however it is preferable to prevent problems before they happen when possible, than to solve them after they become entrenched, because of lack of foresight.<sigh>
If we aren't a step ahead of miscreants who will try to use technology for personal gain (individual and/or their "team") at cost and damage to everyone else, we are wrong, imho.
