I'm saddened to see California go down the route they are taking. I've been there multiple times from SF to LA and watched it decline over the years. SF was absolutely beautiful back in the late 90s when I got to walk through all the typical sites and truly loved the history and beauty. Most recently I spent time in LA (Long Beach actually) and I simply was not impressed with the vast amount of homeless, the state of the city in various locations (Hollywood, St Monica Pier, Venice Beach, and then some). Even Long Beach, while nice for the most part, had their own issues, in which there were lumps of people (homeless) sleeping on the beaches, weed smells EVERYWHERE, and a tent city of homeless in a park adjacent to the hotel I stayed in for a month. The only two places that seemed to maintain the aesthetics where Rodeo Drive and the trails around the observatory and the Hollywood sign. However, the fires are inching up close to those trails currently. Anyway, as we receive more and more CA transplants here in TX, I hear about even more issues. Bottom line, we need to get sanity back into CA and restore a balance of control on the political side.
