The military should be recruiting at ALL engineering award events they can get access to regardless of color/race/gender.

Yes, you would think that would be the priority.
But unfortunately, this is once of those consequences of elections.

Does the Black Engineer of the Year Awards have a skin color requirement to be a recipient? How many non-people of color have been awarded this? I would not call it much of an engineering award if they eliminate 70% of engineers.

I don't know, but I guess it's hard for some people to understand that such an award category was only created because people of a certain skin color were being cut out of the broader award or whole fields - not because they lacked merit, but specifically in this case because they were black. It would certainly be better to have a country and a world where this wasn't true, but it WAS true. So student and civic organizations in these communities decided they'd do something to honor "their own."

COL (Join to see) - Our country has done wrong to more people longer than we have been in a period where it has been fixed. What these student and civic organizations did to honor their own while excluding others is no better than what we did for many years. The best way, in my opinion, to universally fix these problems is to have awards of their own to ensure their people get a fair shake while including all others. You do not lead by doing the same wrong answer; you lead by showing people what the right answer looks like.

My gut says malicious compliance. I regularly workout at Bowie State University, an HBCU since 1864, and last week they had a robust recruiting effort on campus. Sidebar - the UH-60 simulator was not easy for me to execute -- I crashed too many times...I'll stick to my day job
