: Almost a month into the Trump Administration, the Department of Government Efficiency has announced substantial savings in government spending. DOGE, which is overseen by tech mogul Elon Musk, announced savings of $55 billion. The savings comes from a combination of fraud detection/deletion, contract/lease cancellations, contract/lease renegotiations, asset sales, grant cancellations, workforce reductions, programmatic changes, and regulatory savings, DOGE said on its webs. Most things depend n perspective. $55 billion is about three percent of the national budget but is 10% of the interest on the national debt.

Announced... sure. Actually happened. Doubtful. I might believe the GAO. Certainly the salaries of layed-off / fired civil servants They're firing thousands of Veterans, BTW.
