It’s common for the Defense Department and other federal agencies to have liaisons. Each military branch sends liaisons to Capitol Hill. The Pentagon, State Department and others all use interagency liaisons to more closely coordinate and keep tabs on policy.
But it is not common for those senior-level positions to be filled by family members of the Cabinet heads, said Michael Fallings, a managing partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC, which specializes in federal employment law.
Based on Phil Hegseth’s publicly available resume, his past experience includes founding his own podcast production company, Embassy and Third, and working on social media and podcasts at The Hudson Institute.

It is true titles do not translate to leadership. To often the opposite.
Nuff said. You are locked into your personal opinion. It is good you did not make any cabinet choices. Let's quit wasting each other's time. Musk has already uncovered a trillion in fraud and abuse, demonstrating real leadership. You never saw what many us did see.

No. No he hasn't. He hasn't uncovered ANY Bonafide fraud. Only things he claims are, but are really just policy choices that the right doesn't like.

Came close to posting this yesterday.
A good candidate for this position would be anyone with mid to senior level experience in either the DoD or DHS, or ideally at least mid level in both, or active duty field grade experience working with DHS.
After that, some one with at least mid level experience in any federal department, or even on staff in the House or Senate.
Short of that, any mid level experience at all in an organization similar to, or contracting with, either DHS or DoD.
Then there's at least a few dozen more examples before you get to podcaster.
I guess we don't really care about meritocracy like we say we do...
