The Tariffs War, especially against China, has made China reciprocate in kind. The rear minerals needed to produce magnets for EVs comes from China and by China reducing exports of the magnets to the U.S. will effectively kill the EV industry in the U.S., i.e. Tesla. The choice is awfully clear.

India's nuclear program wasn't aimed at Pakistan when it started, it was aimed at China. My guess a large part of it is still aimed that direction.

Absolutely correct CPT Lawrence Cable. India views China as a greater threat and Pakistan as a subsidiary of China. India is always concerned about the squeeze and it's fallout.
