Happy birthday to the Canadian Forces Military Police!
The Military Police traces its lineage back to the creation of the Canadian Provost Corps on June 15, 1940. This date has been adopted as the group’s official birth date.
For the past 85 years, Canadian Military Police have been active throughout the world supporting Canada's military operations, including the Second World War, Korean War, Cold War, first and second Gulf Wars, and numerous United Nations peacekeeping missions.
Today, the Canadian Forces Military Police serve on every military base and station in Canada and on most Canadian Armed Forces operations overseas. From its humble beginnings, the Military Police have evolved into a modern, professional police service that is highly respected within the Canadian law enforcement community and around the world.
Thank you for 85 years of dedication, service, and excellence!
