Once upon a time, long, long ago, in a Galaxy... (Sorry, I got carried away there). Many decades ago when I was a law student, we were taught that judges hated/feared being reversed. It was akin to failing a test. Nowadays, it appears that ideologues on the bench pride themselves on being reversed if they can show that their decisions were politically correct and their reversal was at the hands of politically incorrect jurists.

That decision was almost a given when the 9th Circuit put a hold on the injunction. When one of the most Liberal Appeal Courts in the Nation sides with Trump, you know that Newsom, in the slang of the Infantry and Combat Engineers, stepped on his dick.
