They need to practice their parallel parking. It is a shame because it looks terrible for our Navy.

Well from my old shipmates point of vie w it's because the downsizing they lost so many good officers and enlisted lack of qualified people and not enough coming into the navy too fill all positions because budget reasons. The Navy has had to do more with less still the sane security since the end of WW2 but with less personnel to do it with even with the FY 18 budget it's not nearly enough to replaced lost man power.

Still, are Russia and China (not to mention Iraq and etc...) laughing at us? This seems worse than when bin Laden blew up one of our ships.

PFC (Join to see) No good can come from having our surface fleet benched. Destroyers protect the heavy assets in a worst case scenario they may even be a missile sponge so the Carrier doesn't take a hit. I heard reports this morning that the McCain lost steering just before the collision, and that the possibility of a cyber attack is being looked at. To me that would be far worse than human error. Human error can be fixed with training. An attack means our entire surface fleet could be at risk. Too much speculation, not enough information.
