The first roller coaster in this country was a former coal transport railway in Pennsylvania. It wasn't initially intended to be a ride but it eventually transported 100,000 people some years.

I reside in west central PA Also home to the famous Horseshoe Curve which became a prime Nazi target; tho the plot was foiled
