I like that this is coming from donors and Trump's own money vs tax dollars. I am from the DC area and it is one of my favorite places in the world, but interestingly enough, I have yet to tour the inside of the White House. I have plans to be in DC for next year's 250th Independence Day celebration and I need to sign up for a tour while I am there.

And as usual, at least one person who decided to post his disdain, made it all about Trump corruption when the article and other posts have clearly stated, this is getting paid for by doners and out of the President's own pockets (of which does not include a presidential salary). If only everyone would just take the effort to read objectively!

I actually didn't know that we didn't have a state dining/ball room. This is an EXCELLENT idea, and, true to form, he's not letting the taxpayers foot the bill.

Trump mentioned the tent and added 'when it rains it's a disaster.'
'And the tent's 100 yards, that's more than a football field away from the main entrance and people are [schlepping] down to the tent. It's not a pretty sight. The women with their lovely evening gowns, their hair all done and they're a mess by the time they get in,' Trump said.
Leavitt similarly described the tent as 'unsightly' and said the ballroom would allow for a capacity of 650 people, a significant increase from the current 200-person allowance in the White House East Room.
