Second and third class passengers were not afforded that luxury. Third class rode benches.
The major benefit, regardless of class, was a faster trip and not having to ride stagecoaches.

A great share. Only 102 hours to travel about 1500 miles. No wonder Phileas Fogg needed 80 days to travel the world. LOL
