I would think their actions would warrant the Soldier's Medal....but regardless, damn good on them for their fast actions.

I had assumed that it would be Soldier's Medal.
MSM is still a pretty big deal for impact award.
Maybe the decision was based on them overwhelming the shooter, as opposed to a single Soldier taking on the shooter alone and unarmed.
I am really curious how short notice this was that they couldn't even get that last guy into OCPs.

MSG (Join to see) - Yeah. Signed MSMs ready to go by Friday would have been fast, but getting it done in less than 24 hrs before all the press gets packed up and leave is faster.

An MSM is a big deal to an E-5, but I sincerely hope these are interim awards while Soldier's Medals work their way through the system.
