Trump is deploying the Guard to DC because crime is "totally out of control".
This year in DC
violent crime is down 26%
Homicide is down 12%
ADW is down 20%
Carjacking is down 37%
And in 2024, crime in DC already hit a 30 year low:

So is this an attempt to steal credit for someone else's work (again)? Or is it just another distraction from Epstein files?

Several towns are out on the street demanding that reality will return. Isn’t there a need for Congressional appproval for this? I generally avoid political posts.

Activating Guard troops under T10 for any purpose, really doesn't involve Congress until the appropriation is required to fund it.
It is also worth noting that troops under T10 are severely restricted in what it can do regarding support to law enforcement, which is why the border mission had been under T32 mobilizations over the last 20 years.
