On August 28, 1955, while visiting family in Money, Mississippi, 14-year-old Emmett Till, an African American from Chicago, is brutally murdered for allegedly flirting with a white woman four days earlier.
His assailants—the white woman’s husband and his brother—made Emmett carry a 75-pound cotton gin fan to the bank of the Tallahatchie River and ordered him to take off his clothes. The two men then beat him nearly to death, gouged out his eye, shot him in the head and then threw his body, tied to the cotton gin fan with barbed wire, into the river.

Very sad day in my states history...in our nations history!!! This needs to be taught in schools and never erased or forgotten... so it never gets forgotten about how far we have come from those days. Thanks for the share

Sadly, such hatred still exists today. Some attempt to hide it, but it is there to see if one opens their eyes.

We will never erase hatred unfortunately...we can mitigate it's effects but it will will never be eradicated. Hatred toward others for skin color, national.origin, political affiliation, religion etc go way back before biblical times...all.we can do is teach our children and others about how it is wrong and hopefully live it out in our walks for others to see.
