Lt Col Charlie Brown In general I'm not for AI but there are some cases where it can be beneficial. This is one.

Greetings Cpl Vic Burk, it's good to hear you making progress on your recovery. AI for medical is certainly a huge benefit. Other benefits or organizations could include the following:

Transportation AI powers autonomous vehicles, like those developed by US companies such as Tesla and Waymo, which reduce accidents, congestion, and travel times through real-time data analysis for safer navigation. Traffic prediction systems optimize signals and routes, cutting fuel use and delays in urban areas. For American commuters, this means more reliable public transit and smart city planning that enhances overall mobility.

Finance AI enhances financial security with advanced fraud detection that monitors transactions in real-time, preventing losses for individuals and institutions. Personalized banking via chatbots, such as Bank of America's Erica, provides 24/7 advice and credit assessments based on spending patterns, making services more accessible and efficient. US consumers benefit from smarter lending and investment tools that predict market trends, promoting economic stability.

Agriculture Precision farming uses AI to analyze soil, weather, and crop data, optimizing water, pesticides, and yields to boost productivity while minimizing waste. For US farmers, this supports sustainable practices, reducing costs and environmental impact in a sector vital to food security.

Environment and Sustainability AI aids climate mitigation by forecasting energy use and emissions, enabling renewable systems and resource optimization to lower carbon footprints. In the US, it drives waste reduction through smart recycling and manufacturing efficiencies, helping preserve biodiversity and address pressing challenges like urban energy management.

Daily Life and Productivity AI streamlines everyday tasks with virtual assistants for scheduling, recommendations on platforms like Amazon and Netflix, and predictive shopping that anticipates needs. In workplaces, it automates routine work, boosting productivity by up to 66% in complex tasks and improving work-life balance. Cybersecurity enhancements protect personal data from threats, while creative tools aid in design and content generation, fostering innovation for hobbyists and professionals alike.

Broader Economic and Societal Gains Overall, AI is projected to add trillions to the US economy by 2030 through job creation in tech and finance, enhanced decision-making, and scalable innovations. It accelerates scientific discoveries by spotting patterns in vast datasets and improves customer service across retail and e-commerce, leading to cost savings and higher satisfaction for citizens.

While there is reason to believe that AI could be used in an abusive manner, we have that today with a myriad of interfaces. Some are is as simple as a credit care or a checking account. To many bad guys in our world.

SPC Jeff Daley, PhD - First, my progress/recovery is going great! Over 8,800 steps today. Just a few shy of my pre-surgery daily quest of 10,000 steps.
AI does have a lot of good but at the same time it can also have a lot of evil uses! I know some of my students cheat with it on their homework to work problems. Even though I know it doesn't mean I can prove it. The test reveals all since on my tests I make it a point to use about half the problems that were on the homework. Kind of a CYA for me for when parents complain about their low test scores. I can point out that if they did the homework they should have got at least a 50 on the test!

Interesting development. This is what AI should be used for, but verified by humans.

Nice, but given the reaction of many to the process that sped up developing vaccines, will anyone use the results of this research?
