I'm fine with not allowing the press to roam the halls, actively seeking leakers. Asking them not to publish leaks goes too far, though.

What seems to have been ignored by Hegseth is that what is being "leaked" is not classified or even CUI (except for his leaks to the press). It's things like policy, and what is going on in the building. The press should have access to the people that are moving things within DoD. This isn't leaking anything, but keeping the public informed. As an aside, it's not appropriate to classify anything because it's embarrassing to somebody, or to cover anything illegal.

Good for the press!
Seems the administration is worried about leaks/whistle blowers. So apparently they think they have something that needs to be hidden from the American taxpayers - and with defense the largest part of the budget too!?
