This is a reminder of the 6 part 12 hours series that will start airing 16 November on PBS.

I have watched a handful of Ken Burns interviews in the past few days. Along with the general comments, he always drops new bread crumbs of insightful wisdom about seemingly obscure facts in each interview He is much more animated and open in the YouTube interviews than the t.v. interviews, although those are also good.

This interview is full of obscure facts (to me, at least) that he mentions, in discussion, (which may or may not be in the series). It is more of a coversation than an interview. There were three questions - good questions. One of the interviewers is a veteran - Faluja.

The ~one hour and 10 minutes did not seem that long, maybe because my attention was riveted. (The rest of the video, after, did not include Burns, and gets stupid, so it is not included - if the start and end time marks in the address work correctly, as intended)

It is necessary "listen fast"/concentrate to the numerous connected details as examples that illustrate concepts about the war more clearly. He is a whirlwind of enthusiasm and knowledge.

On a personal note - it was new territory for me to consider our Revolutionary War was both a world war, and a civil war. throughout the duration. Seems the French Indian War was a prelude, also as a world war without the population yet realizing their power of its presence as a threat to the nations that wanted to claim North America as part of their empires, but were inconvenienced in a variety of ways by distance. That was something that had totally escaped my notice. There is much more that can be said about the circumstances, both from the perspective of the colonists, and the world of nations - perhaps the series will say it . . .
