GOP Lawmaker to File Expulsion Resolution Against Cherfilus-McCormick

Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.) said on Nov. 20 that he will file a resolution to expel Rep. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-Fla.) from Congress. The Department of Justice indicted Cherfilus-McCormick, 46, on Nov. 19 for allegedly stealing $5 million in FEMA funds.
She and her brother, Edwin Cherfilus, 51, undertook a COVID-19 vaccination contract through their company in July 2021 when it received an overpayment of $5 million, according to the Justice Department. The two allegedly took the $5 million and put it in multiple accounts to cover up the source of the funds, according to the Justice Department. A significant portion of the funds was allegedly used toward Cherfilus-McCormick’s 2021 congressional campaign and for personal benefit.

Man, what is going on down in Florida? This right after Nancy Mace's censure vote against fellow Republican Cory Mills for stolen valor, domestic violence, and federal contracting shenanigans gets punted to the ethics committee (where no consequences are EVER imposed). Here's an idea. One for one. Kick them both out, and the balance of power is undisturbed.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard - Unfortunately, 95% of the voters don't look past party affiliation, and also don't vote in primaries. That's how you get people like Cory Mills and Commie Mamdani elected. They win the primary election in places where the other party has no chance, and primaries can have bad outcomes because voter turnout is nearly nonexistent (except in presidential elections, and it's not great even there). In New York, I blame Cuomo for not taking his primary opponent seriously, and in Mills's district, I blame all the Republicans who didn't show up to vote in the primary.
