Having grown up communicating on WWMCCS in the military i was always under impressed when the internet cam along. I just considered it the public finally being able to do what I'd had access to for years. Of course the internet has developed well beyond what it was then.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen I did database work for WWMCCS when I was on active duty. Some of its very cornerstones are still in place on today's Internet.

Maj William W. 'Bill' Price have you thought about writing a book outlining your knowledge, experience, and contribution. Often times, there are many people involved in a revolution that are unknown. The evolution of the Internet obviously has many contributors.

Maj William W. 'Bill' Price I love these kind of "information digs". Do you know what this means? It is like finding a dinosaur bone.

PO3 Phyllis Maynard If they can read the tape, in my judgement I would compare it to actually finding The Ark of the Covenant. The letter found with the tape (signed by Ken Thompson) is one of the big three: Ken Thompson, Brian Kernigan, and Dennis Ritchie.

Maj William W. 'Bill' Price I hope that these data explorers reach out to the two who are still alive. Their knowledge is golden. I am a program er by education and trade. I was taught by hardcore computer programming professors. They have died of moved away. All of the fluff policies awarded degrees to people who are incompetent. Programming is language. Know the fundamentals and learn the new language, but the fluffy educated programmers are going to cause more and more systems vunerable to hackers. I hope they reach out to these 82 and 83 year old masters.
