Take your skills and figure out how you can use them as a civilian...I got hired by someone who wasn't sure about my "military" background and two years later she promoted me to the lead position over more senior people.

I have made it my mission as an HR professional to help veterans to translate their military experience into civilian application and help them to 'brand themselves' as subject matter experts. Anything I can do to help a vet find work after their missions is complete, I am willing to do!
