"Silent Night" - Forest of Ardennes - Christmas 1944 (based on a true story)

The narration is from the perspective of the recollection of the 12 year old son, played remarkably well by a 12 year old actor. Excellent in-character portrayals by the cast, all the way around. Enemies, face to face, made difficult choices to avoid the war for a brief time, before moving on the next day.
If you start to watch do not be discouraged or fret fret about the minimal talking between mother and son being in German, briefly, w/subtitles the first scene or two. It segues into English for rest of the movie other than a subtitled brief comment or two in German.
