In the 60s and 70s getting a driver's license was a teens key to being connected. Today its having a smartphone and quite a few teens have no desire to get a driver license.

@LTC Thomas Tennant I was on a very nice smartphone diet. Once I logged back into RP, that went to you know where. Staying off my smartphone was refreshing. I only kept it near if it rang. If I was not on RP, I would not use it for as long as three days.

I play words with strangers, and have the Nook App on mine, or it would sit all day on the charger. After many years in the maintenance field I don't wear jewelry or a watch. When I'm away from home it is my Time Piece.
