Pi (π) has been known for almost 4000 years—but even if we calculated the number of seconds in those 4000 years and calculated π to that number of places, we would still only be approximating its actual value. Here’s a brief history of finding π.

I can do the math but to be the mathematician that came up with some of the concepts it mind blowing. It took me six months to write my undergraduate Research Project Paper when I was getting my degree in mathematics. (It was bio-statistical)
Andrew Wiles, who wrote the proof for Fermat's Last Theorem worked on the paper for seven years. The math community found a mistake and it took him another two years to fix that. Many mathematicians over the course of three hundred plus years said it was un-provable.
