The diversity standards that are being mandated are completely void of logic. If a segment of the population only accounts for 13% of the total population, it is a statistical impossibility to give 50% of the available seats to that segment in every institution across the academic world.
Also, quotas do not account for choice. The quotas for the available STEM courses will never have demographic parity when people make individual choices for their own future; some people like to write, some like numbers, some like science, some like to nurture, some like to invent, some like to lead and some like to suck off the teat of another's success.
Book-smart, arrogant people in academia and politics who have zero common sense suck at life or at least suck the life out of people who have drive and understand personal responsibility.
