CPT (Join to see) I was completely unaware that the US let go of 7 Iranian prisoners, why is this not widely reported?

My question is who were the men we gave up, what was their value and why were they detained? Furthermore, why did the US have to give up anything when Americans were illegally imprisoned in the first place? Diplomacy as you say really wasn't used if we had to give up something in order to get something even though you had what we wanted illegally, and why couldn't sanctions just have been lifted or etc in order to get our citizens back, instead we gave a country that calls for the destruction of Israel "our ally" nuclear capability to destroy them.

CPT (Join to see) - My bad, well the question still remains, why did we trade 7 criminals who's sole plan was espionage for Iran and to make money for Americans. Jason Rezaian convicted of espionage in a closed door trial...hmm that's odd, Amir Mirza Hekmati (Veteran) imprisoned and sentenced to death for charges of espionage and full confession that has never been proven, Pastor Saeed Abedini charged with undermining Iran national establishment for being Christian. So we got 3 and they got 7 and nuclear power to destroy our ally, hardly seems fair?
