I think I've been saying it for a while now, but "1984" was never meant to be a guide book nor instruction manual. The terms Doublespeak & Doublethink (NEWS-peak) should be listed in the DSM as alternatives to cognitive dissonance.

Propaganda was written in 1924 by Edward Bernays who is the person who coined the term "public affairs."
