I am not saying I agree with the decision to sideline him, but...
When you make your boss look bad, it tends to not go well. When you make your boss look bad in front of the world, it tends to go worse.
He probably could have been more tactful in his tweets. And YRMC probably could have been more thoughtful in their actions responding to them.
