I turned to find my wife across the room, in tears, listening to this. My eyes too were wet. I have come home to a much better fate, but also spent a few Christmases alone. The memory of them helps sweeten the joy of those that followed in the years after I started my own family, lost it, and started another. Merry Christmas, brothers and sisters, comrades in arms.
