Very well thought out argument. There are numerous issues with ERPO as the author points out. The mental health system in this country was essentially dismantled years ago. Maybe, we need to think of about restoring the system. The problem isn't guns, it is the mental problems of some owners of guns, chainsaws, knives, etc. Let's try to get to the root of the issue, not the tool.

So let me get this straight...”The problem isn’t guns, it is the mental problems of some owners of guns, chainsaws, knives, etc. Hmmmm...sooooo...explain the mental defect of children shooting children, innocents killed in drive-bys, innocents killed in store robbery, death due to criminal use...etc...could it be piss poor gun control in the home and in the community...gun owners are not being held responsible for the security of the weapon(s) they own...there is an arsenal of illegal weapons and ammunition in Chicago, LA, NYC, Philly, DC, Atlanta Seattle and on and on...it’s time to think outside the box...it is time ofor actual gun safety through gun control...

MSG Bob Metz - We have all the laws that are necessary regarding regulation of firearms. If you really believe that we need more controls on firearms, I will have to just agree to disagree.

My only concern is that taking away guns means taking away an amendment to the Constitution that is given to all law abiding citizens. Law abiding, unless PROVEN in a court of law that they have done something BEYOND REASONABLE DOUBT, that negates the amendment, then you can remove the right. Otherwise, I do not agree unless the person had been proven a threat thru a court of law. How about someone who is upset, and we know they are going to cuss, can we remove them from where they live and put them somewhere they won't cuss so young people can hear them? Same thing, different right.
