Transforming the VA is not brain surgery! It's simple, back to basics. Become deaf and blind to the BS, politics and drama.
Do the right thing, for the right reason for the right patients at the right time.

I agree wholeheartedly! The VA is a personal sore spot with me- they have sent me to "civilian" offices for testing, haven't paid for those tests, and now I am fighting with the credit bureaus to have them removed from my credit report! (Gotta love it huh?). In the span of 1 week, I have had 4 departments call me to reschedule appointments! I work full time, so when I schedule the appts, I normally take a P.T.O day, and do them all in 1 day- when they reschedule, I "waste" the PTO, then have to jump through hoops to make it happen. As far as the VA is concerned, IMO, common sense is NOT a common virtue. It desperately needs to be streamlined, we don't need so many stops between point a to point b. Stop the nonsense, stop the b.s. job security crap- start doing your damn job and taking care of the veterans! We held up our end of the deal- now it's time for the government to stand by their end of the agreement. Off my soapbox now-take it for what it is. Semper Fi

GySgt Melissa Gravila - Ask to speak to the Dept .Director to get those appointments scheduled or the Patient Rep explain the situation, you should have the appointments in no time. If not, I will help you. Where do you live? Credit Bureaus are not permitted to remove, must come from the original source of billing. Write a letter to the Billing & Finance/Office and cc VA Facility Director. I use the New

This all sounds good but I guarantee if you put two VA states against each other and one did a voucher system and the other went traditional the voucher state would crush other. I'm not saying there isn't a place for the VA but I think about 1/10 of the size is the optimal size. When something is so bad yo begin with you have to gut it to make it any better. I bet it would be cheaper to give early retirement to anybody over 15 years at the VA, give a 5 year translation to most under 15 years, and still do a voucher system than to continue throwing money at this federal money boondoggle.
