First of all, that is an amazing feat for a low-down human being to do. It's also sad that he is so young. I imagine he wanted to join but couldn't get a waiver for his prior convictions.

Second; why in the HELL (and I use that word strongly) didn't anyone notice him when he first arrived? How did he get on base with the ID he had/stolen; did he match the same description?. The guards should have asked questions like "What's your middle name?" Our MOOW (Messenger of the Watch) would ask questions like this when we would board the ship. There's a slight downfall in security starting at the gates of Ft. Bragg.

Third; why would any of the soldiers notice the slight differences in the guy? If Delta Company has many different areas, why didn't the other soliders try and elaborate on the fact? Not that they needed to delve into the fake's "career" but just honestly asking open questions. Given, they just briefly talked to him but seriously; a person who would be from that company would have had a specific sector or section of which he was from previously. Bringing females to his room, with food? This should have been another warning. If the barracks has strict rules regarding females in a room with males, they should have stopped him right there too! When I went to school, males could come to your room but were not able to go inside. What was the reason as to why he wasn't able to go to Chow like everyone else?Given, he may have chosen not to eat there even if he was truly serving.

Fourth; if you know you're drunk AND driving, why approach an officer? With intoxication, we forget some important parts, understood. But seriously.

This is a severe lack of security (or the sentry just didn't care of wasn't given proper training) within the realms of that base. Those guys just bought a ticket to GMT-ville with Death by PowerPoint to follow.

If the barracks are still like I remember, that should have been punishment enough!

As I read this story, I could not contain my laughter. Wow! What a smart and lucky fellow he is. I am sure he will get his just dessert, but my hat off to him for this complete hoax execution.
