I had the wonderful opportunity in graduate school to be a research assistant for a Children’s Literature scholar. It certainly gave me an appreciation of children’s literature, but I gained, especially, a deeper awareness and understanding of early/emerging literacy and the role literature plays.

The Library of Congress has made out -of-print (old) children’s books available digitally. Professor Sipe would surely be pleased.
