Living the SOF truths and working to counter the Me and I alone culture would help but instilling in the Branch a past honored tradition of bringing in older, more experienced Soldiers who are there because they have the SOF impelritivwa in their hearts instead of wanting to get their gun on, look sexy and think that the Special on their tab meant them instead of the missions they perform. It’s a tough row to hoe, and saw a huge transition at USASOC of old warriors in the mid 2000’s that saw the future and were very worried. Change is good, but not all change is best in every case. Most I know are amazing operators, it’s a small segment that make the entire barrel look bad. Can we fix it, sure-do we have the ability, don’t think so...that ship has sailed.
