SrA Edward Vong I personally prefer Kodi, but I have been using it since 2006. As with any program, it depends on what you are looking for. Plex started as the OSX port of XBMC (Kodi). Due to differences of opinion, the developers of Plex left Kodi and created Plex. If you are interested in staying totally open source, Kodi is the way to go. Kodi is 100% open source, whereas Plex is 90% closed source and 10% open source. Also Kodi allows more customization by the end user than Plex. Plex, however, is designed to just work without much user interaction.
