If you have 20 minutes or so, this is a very interesting interview. This man did it his way despite any pressure. The majority of the culture he created still exists. Father of the nuclear navy. Since its inception the nuclear navy hasn't had one meltdown from one of its reactors.

A good friend of mine went through the Navy Nuc program. He said this was a very tough school with lots of people failing out

Indeed it is. Personally i was failing and had mandatory 40 hours study time a week above classroom instruction. I was able to un-**ck myself and get through it.

It’s not the failure rate from the school, it was getting by this little arrogant p&&&k. Brilliant , yes, but a bully that hated anyone taller than him.
